Middlesbrough Night Life

Middlesbrough has a lively night life, with student specials available all the time.

Teesside University, The Union offers rock nights, cheesy pop, 60s, 70s and 80s nights, R&B and much more including excellent value meals and its own nightclub.

Southfield Road runs through the campus and here you will find a variety of student oriented bars and pubs.

The Middlesbrough Empire is famous for its Sugar Shack dance nights with guests such as DJs Roger Sanchez, John Kelley, and the Shapeshifters. Indie and live music nights feature heavily too with Club NME nights - recent gigs include Kaiser Chiefs, Arctic Monkeys and The Ordinary Boys. The town also boasts the Cornerhouse and the Arena – both great for clubbing and live music.

Middlesbrough Town Hall hosts more mainstream entertainment and music including comedy, rock and pop. Acts have included The Undertones, Bloc Party and Van Morrison.

Out of town you'll find the legendary Club M at Tall Trees in Yarm. It attracts revellers from all over the UK who pack out this 8,000 capacity venue every weekend. Regular events include Retro, Goodgreef and More. Guest DJs and live PAs are regularly featured with Paul Taylor, Adam Sheridan and Eddie Halliwell making regular appearances.
