The Middlesbrough MELA

Urgent Notice:

The torrential weather has meant the cancellation of this year’s Mela on 18 and 19 July in Albert Park, for the first time 19 years.

The Middlesbrough MELA, one of the biggest and most spectacular multi-cultural celebrations in the North East.  Now in our 19th year we are proud of how the MELA has evolved into the fabulous mix of music, food, fashion and fun that it’s become today. You’ll know that last year, for the first time, the Mela expanded to two packed days of entertainment and fun and we think it worked so well we are doing it again!

Activate Saturday on the 18th July is dedicated to sports, health & fitness and overall wellbeing. In addition there will still be a great programme of local entertainment, headed up by Maze and DJ Shak, plus sumptuously healthy food for all to enjoy.  This is definitely a day to participate and activate, or just enjoy watching the professionals and local groups show off their fantastic skills.

Witness the famous MELA On the 19th July at Celebrate Sunday, a day you’ve all come to know and love with world class main stage artists plus all of the added enjoyment that’s on offer throughout both days of fairground rides, even more children’s activities, stunning fashion wear (both on the stage on Sunday and for you to buy), the new arts and crafts bazaar set in the Global Village and, of course, delicious food stalls throughout the park.
